Singapore is a dynamic place to visit! This July, you can not only refresh your look to the Great Singapore Sale, taste fantastic food at the Singapore Food Festival, but also delve into the Malay culture in Singapore. 
For an entire month, from June 27th to July 28th 2014, Singapore honors itsMalay community celebrating Hari Raya Ramadan and PUASA, one of the main festivals of the country. 
This is a unique opportunity for everyone to discover Malaysian culture and community, the rich history of Geylang Serai as he is 50 years old and understand the religious meaning behind Hari Raya PUASA. This year, in addition to traditional street light-ups and color Geylang Serai Bazaar, every weekend will be punctuated by a series of cultural performances, games and activities for which you are all invited. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar and for believers in Singapore and around the world, it is the holiest time of year -a time for prayer, self-examination, almsgiving and fasting. During Ramadan and the first light until sundown, all healthy adult Muslims must abstain from food, drink and sensual activities. Hari Raya PUASA marks the end of Ramadan this year falls on July 28.

Each year during the Hari Raya season PUASA, Geylang Serai Malay attracts many families and visitors at night to watch the festive streets and warms the light-up heart. Its design is inspired largely by significant symbols of Islam such as Crescent and Moon, Turkish style minarets and mosques.
